Salesian past pupils of Haiti

National Federation of Salesian Past Pupils of Don Bosco of Haiti

“Good Christians and honest citizens”: a united and committed community, rooted in the heritage and values of Don Bosco, serving the youth of Haiti.

Our purpose

Vision and Mission

The Salesian past pupils of Haiti share a vision and a mission common to Salesian past pupils throughout the world. This mission and vision are rooted in the heritage and values of Don Bosco. The Haitian Past Pupils of Don Bosco want to spread Don Bosco’s precepts and apply them in their community.

The Salesian past pupils of Haiti want to attest to the world that the education received in the Houses of Don Bosco has transformed them into “salt of the earth” and “light of the world”, and also into “good Christians and honest citizens” who have become committed lay people, guided by a clear moral conscience. In this spirit, they commit themselves to defending the values of life, liberty and truth in their society.

The education they received, born of love, unites them fraternally with one another and with their spiritual guides and educators. They have understood the need and the duty to preserve and uphold the principles of Don Bosco’s teaching, which formed the basis of their training.

Their objective is to promote human dignity and the identity of the family, and to practise solidarity among themselves and within their community, particularly in favour of the most disadvantaged young people.

Giving hope and dreams to our youth

Our Projects

The Salesian Missions have been working in Haiti since 1936 and have contributed to the training of many leaders of our society. The Salesian Missions give hope to Haiti by giving hope to its youth. In the midst of despair, the future is brighter for Haiti thanks to the Salesian Missions and to those who give generously to fund this invaluable work. Among the many projects completed and others under way, FENADBH adds these two projects to the list, with the aim of giving hope and dreams to our young people.

☂
Project 1

Water to Save Lives

Many Haitian families do not have access to clean drinking water. When you donate to this water project, you help build wells across the country and provide water to those who need it most. Clean water helps young people stay healthy so that they can take part in our education and social support programmes. Clean water gives them the chance to build a better future.

Project 2

Salesian Centre of Don Bosco

Build a centre that will include a museum of the past pupils and friends of Don Bosco, and technical training rooms up to date with the latest technologies. This centre will be a place of meeting, training and research for young professionals, our mentors and the professionals of our society. “This is the sketch; it is up to us to add the colours” – Saint John Bosco. It is up to us to make this project a reality.

The support of all past pupils and friends in making this project happen will be greatly appreciated.
